The largest open-air Christmas festival is inspired by the Christkindlmarket in Nuremberg, Germany and helps to bring European and German traditions Chicago!

People from all around the world head to Chicago to visit the market each year. Christkindlmarket is one of the most popular holiday traditions in the Chicago Loop and has grown into much more than just a German tradition, transforming into a Chicago institution. The market offers a unique shopping experience, diverse holiday entertainment, typical German drinks and food, and much more!

Even though the Magnificent Mile and State Street are full of retail stores all year long, the Christkindlmarket brings a unique shopping experience to the area. The gifts that are available at the market are not available anywhere else, and are sure to put a smile on all of your loved ones’ faces this year. Some of the vendors will even be showing off their crafts at the market with demonstrations, ensuring you get a one of a kind gift.

The 2015 Christkindlmarket started on November 20^th on Daley Plaza, and will run until December 24^th. Best of all, admission into the event is completely free!
